The Glory of Vivid Sydney  


In case we are in Sydney between May 22 to June 8, it is crucial that we take part in their festival of light, music & ideas – Vivid Sydney. Vivid Sydney is an annual lighting festival featuring impressive light installations and projections.


Every year, different infrastructures are transformed because of light installations and projections. The good news is that a Singapore team took part in setting up light installations. There were over sixty light installations. The entry of a Singapore team is called Beat installed in Circular Quay – Hickson Road Reserve. It works by producing light pulses patterned according to the heartbeat of the person holding the ball sensors. This is surely a pleasant sight.

Aside from our entry, there are other light installations to look forward. Here’s the list:

  • Mission Control – It is located in Pyrmont Park.
  • Light Well – It is located in Walsh Bay.
  • Swing Glow – It is located in First Fleet, Circular Quay.
  • A Game of Drones – It is located in Martin Place.
  • Confluence – It is located in First Fleet Park, Circular Quay.


  • Geometric Eye – It is located in Overseas Passenger Terminal, Circular Quay.
  • Drum Circle – It is located in Martin Place.
  • Affinity – It is located in First Fleet Park, Circular Quay.
  • Inter/Place – It is located in Cadmans Cottage, The Rocks.
  • Canon HQ – It is located in Circular Quay near First Fleet Park.
  • Light Origami – It is located in Alfred St., Circular Quay.
  • Jigsaw – It is located in Campbells Cove, Circular Quay.
  • Robotanic – It is located in Martin Place.

The list goes on. At the end of the day, the important thing is witnessing the beauty of light installations and projections offered by Sydney.
